Delicious Aussie tiger prawns now in season

Australians are gearing up to consume almost 200 million Tropic Co Australian Tiger Prawns this prawn season.

With their vibrant and distinctive orange tiger stripes, the season promises to produce the highest  quality Tiger Prawns that are proudly Australian grown. Sweet in flavour and crisp in texture, the  succulent Australian Tiger Prawns will be farmed fresh, being processed within just a few hours of  harvest from November 2022 through to May 2023 from the Tropic Co prawn farms in Queensland and  New South Wales.

Tropic Co believes that this year will be the biggest season ever for Tiger Prawn consumption, with more  families and entertainers looking for a delicious, healthy, and versatile protein sure to impress a crowd.

Tropic Co expects to farm about 200 million Australian Tiger Prawns this season, which equates  to seven prawns for every Australian. With enough prawns to make 35 million prawn cocktails, fresh  Tiger Prawns will be enjoyed from now through to Easter, 2023, with Christmas shining a spotlight on  the quintessential Australian produce.

Matt Vince, Tropic Co Head of Sales and Marketing, said: “We are expecting our highest demand ever for  Tropic Co Tiger Prawns this season. We know Aussies LOVE prawns for Christmas and Easter, but they’re  also learning they can enjoy delicious, fresh Tiger Prawns all summer long because they’re so versatile,  healthy and very easy to use.

"We’re also excited about our new hospitality campaign, Prawn Bucket SUNdays, that kicks off this  month at over 180 hotels, pubs and clubs across the country, and encourage all Australians to support  their closest venue this summer by dropping in to enjoy a bucket of quality Tropic Co Tiger Prawns.”

While in season, Tropic Co Australian Tiger Prawns can be shipped fresh (not frozen), direct from farm to  supermarkets and fishmongers for the ultimate culinary experience.

Aussies are gearing up to fire their barbeque, giving excuses for friends and family to gather around in  celebration of the summer season with Tropic Co’s Tiger Prawns. Whether serving prawns hot or cold,  you can purchase raw or cooked, and with the other fresh Australian produce like mangos in great  supply, consider adding Coconut Tiger Prawns with Mango and Lime Salad to the menu this weekend at  home.

Prawns are one of the most nutritionally filled proteins you can incorporate into your next meal or snack  as they are full of rich health benefits. Tropic Co’s Aussie Tiger Prawns pack a punch in flavour whilst  also being an excellent source of Omega 3, high in fibre, low in fat and low in cholesterol.
