The perfect party-prepped skin with mesoestetic® micropeel and micellar biphasic

  • Written by The Women's Magazine

With the party season upon us, it’s important to ensure skin is primed and in optimum condition for the upcoming slew of events….and there’s no better way to achieve a flawless canvas than simply having good skin.

So how to achieve this? Arantza Azparren, Training Manager of mesoestetic® Pharma Group,  says that exfoliation is one of the key at-home skincare treatments should be prioritised in the  weeks leading up to an event for a luminous, healthy-looking glow.

“We highly recommended using a micro-exfoliating treatment, like the mesoestetic® ultimate micropeel. It exerts a smooth renewing action on the skin surface to help remove dead skin, refine texture, visibly smooth out imperfections and immediately enhance facial radiance”.

ultimate micropeel features a combination of AHAs with an enzyme exfoliant to provide an exfoliating, restorative action on the skin surface for a smoother, more supple and brighter looking complexion.

However, while exfoliation, works well on all skin types, including sensitive skin, it is advised to  choose an exfoliator that best suits individual needs and apply it as often as the skin allows. For  example, sensitive skin is irritated and reddens easily, so it requires formulas with gentle exfoliating agents, such as enzyme exfoliants, which are active substances that encourage skin  renewal, thus improving the appearance of skin's texture.

According to Arantza, ultimate micropeel which is an ezyme exfoliant is generally recommended  as a weekly treatment application for all skin types but can be increased to 2-3 times a week (except for sensitive skin) to obtain optimum results when prepping skin for an event.

Arantza also suggests that the time of application, AM or PM, is again up to individual preference and skincare routine.

“At night, the skin undergoes a regeneration process to help recover from the aggressions experienced during the day. Exfoliating at night enhances this process; therefore, in terms of renewal, it acts in synergy with this natural biological process.

However, during the day, it helps to eliminate impurities produced during the night in order to  avoid pore obstruction, which, for example, may be preferable in oily skin due to the overproduction of sebum.”

While prepping skin for an event is important, taking care of your skin post-event can be even  more so. That’s why ensuring skin is thorougly cleansed before bed, no matter how tired, is  crucial to allow for optimum recovery, renewal and revitalisation.

So is double cleansing necessary? According to Arantza, the formulas in today's facial  cleansers have evolved to strike an ideal balance between efficient cleansing while at the same time keeping the skin looking healthy by respecting the hydrolipidic layer of the skin, its pH, and  even the cutaneous microbiota.

“More innovative ingredients are also being included to help remove all types of impurities and  dirt, even the most resistant ones, such as particulate pollutants.

In short, if the right product is used correctly, a very effective cleanse can be achieved in just  one step.

However, double cleansing is recommended if you use makeup. mascara, lipsticks, etc. Wax based formulas are difficult to eliminate and the best way to remove them is with oil-based  cleansers or two-phase solutions such as our micellar biphasic”.

micellar biphasic is a biphasic make-up remover that combines an oil phase, rich in omega 6,  and an aqueous phase that, unlike other biphasic make-up removers, contains micelles.

“micelles work like magnets; they are chemical structures with a hydrophilic head and lipophilic  tail that combine to form spheres. These spheres efficiently encapsulate any dirt, make-up and  impurities, trapping it inside. The presence of micelles provides a more effective and gentle  cleansing action in the aqueous phase eliminating the need for excessive friction when  removing impurities and make-up. micellar biphasic is not a micellar water; it is a more  comprehensive product specifically developed for the sensitive eye and lip area, with an  excellent skin tolerance, and suitable for contact lens users”.

Providing postbiotic and an anti-pollution action, micellar bjphasic removes every last particle of  makeup, (including waterproof make-up) in a single step leaving skin feeling supple and smooth with no oily residue.

For the most radiant and healthy-looking party skin, Arantza strongly suggests the combined  use of both micellar biphasic and ultimate micropeel –pre and post event for the ultimate skin  primer and skin recovery treatment. They make a powerful pair.
